learning from shows and movies

Something that my GP tutor made me realised: Avatar's storyline is like Pocahontas, The Lion King's storyline is like Hamlet. There are still more but he didn't continue 'cause he didn't want to "ruined" my childhood. Haha! But yes, I realise how very similar the stories were.

I'm suddenly in the mood to watch Disney movies. The classics, the fairy tales and also Pixar! I'm really a Disney person. Ah, there is just so many things I want to do. I want to watch all the Avengers movies too. And all the Korean dramas. Haha!

But yes, I like to watch shows and movies in general. Just that watching one that makes you laugh or leave you thinking is good. Crap movies are just annoying. Those with meaning is worth rewatching! Those that make you laugh as well. Sometimes, we need these to make us laugh and cheer us up so that we'll have the strength to carry on. But yep, time is wasted like that but oh well, it's still nice to dwell into another story, another world instead of your own sometimes. Not that I'm complaining that my life isn't good and all, but it's nice to get away from everything once in a while. And dive into a life that isn't yours.

I miss reading books. It's been a long long time since I read a storybook. I think I should start on one soon. I really miss reading. Aha, I suddenly miss reading all the fairy tales that I read when I was young. Haha! Cinderella, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and many many more. All the children stories! I love them 'cause they are just simple and innocent and it always ends with "and they all lived happily ever after."

But yes yes, I still miss reading books in general. I think partly why I stop is 'cause my subjects are all reading subjects except Math. I have to read the notes and all. It's so annoying. But it's still interesting but can make you dread reading somehow.

I really don't get how I always waste my time away and then panic at the last minute. I'll never master the art of spacing out my time well so that I won't do last minute work.

The Lion King! One of my favourite Disney movie. Actually, I like almost all Disney movies. Haha! I really want a Disney marathon!! They are all really good movies.

For now, I shall control! And yes, focus on getting my As. Focus on passing and understanding. I really have to step it up. Oh yes, I got back results. I won't feel sad about anymore 'cause I kinda expected such results and we got no time to feel sad. Learn from you mistakes and yes! I can do this. We can all do this. Just a few more months. It's really going to be all over soon. What matters must is that we are here for each other, giving each other strength and support.

The past is the past. Whatever shit that happened, forget about them. They aren't worth remembering. Hold on to the good memories and move forward. These memories will be enough to push you on.

One of the many things I'm really thankful to God is letting me have a positive mindset to be able to cheer myself up and pull myself together. Not a lot of people can do that and I'm glad that I can. Not always, I mean yea, sometimes, you need help to get up too but yes, I know I have people who will always extend their hands out to pull me up.

This scary JC life, we'll get through it together!!

Yet, if only life wasn't complicated.

green person~!

This girl's birthday on 29th March! She used to look so innocent. What happened??! HAHA!

Had a mini surprise for her with Gekhooi. Haha! She is blind lar I swear. =D But yes! Hope she was still happy to see me there! =) Super duper long never see her already! And we still have so many stuffs to tell each other. I really hate how our schedules just clashes like mad. Sucks man.

But yep! Hope she had an awesome 18th! I'll save the nice stuffs on her letter which heh, I haven't do yet. But yes! You will get it soon! =D Wahhhh I really hate it that we are all 18 this year. Lol! We are busy but still have to and must do nice stuffs for other people's birthday! I'm not complaining hor 'cause I really want to do nice stuffs for them. Just that I really hate time. Maybe I should blog less often. Haha! Ok, it's actually not often since the last time I post was many years ago but I like to spam posts in one go. Heh.

Ok! I shall go eat my lunch now! May post again later if I'm in the mood. =D

Fun-O-Ramaaaaaaa~~

Inspired by Jiesi's way of blogging about Fun-O-Rama, I shall copy her. =D And since I'm quite lazy to type out the details, I'll just go by photos. =D

Prep for Fun-O-Rama!!!

Went to Lingli's house on the Saturday before Fun-O-Rama to learn how to cook the chicken chop! Haha! And of course, eat the chicken chop too. =D

Yes!! Me cooking. Haha! I think I'm not bad at cooking. =D Okok, self-praise but oh well.

When we got bored doing the signage for our class's food and games stall! =D

The day before fun-o-rama!

HAHA! This photo really looks super funny. =D And yes! The thing on their head is damn cute right? Made by Eunice! She taught us how to make after that. =D

And we are done with our signage!! Nice right? =D I seriously love the chicken. It's damn cute lar! It's actually the chicken from Nissin, which is on my favourite chicken shirt. =D

All the signage! Food, games and our grand prize! =D

We had Mac for lunch too! Ms Lye treat us to it! =)))

Balloons! Haha! I love Feli's Face man. She's like damn scared.

Our food booth! Haha! I love how only Eunice and I were prepared for the photo. =D

Went to Lingli's house aft that to collect the chicken chop and nuggets to help bring to school the next day and help her make the carrot thing. We had awesome chicken chop for dinner as well. Haha!

Fun-O-Rama Day!

Yes, the school was that crowded and super alive. Our school looks super pretty that day. =)

Woke up at 4.30am and went to Feli's house to cook about 30 chicken chops! We kinda thought we were pro and can finish cooking quickly but nope, we were kinda wrong. Haha! Started cooking at 5.30am like that we we only finished at about 7.15am? But yes! At least we finished. Just that the oil was really nasty. Damn gross lar. Oil all over. First time I see so much oil in cooking since my mum uses little oil to cook. And yes, I really didn't want to eat chicken chop after that. But yea lar, I'll still eat it. Just not now. =D

Rushed to school to deliver the food! Love my mum for volunteering to drive me to school. =D Reached school and Joyce and Sharon helped all the girls in our class to tie this hairstyle!

I took out after a while 'cause it was really hot. Haha! Sharon helped me tie scorpion after that. I really should learn how to tie all these sorts of braids. But it's really hard to learn leh. Lol! Or maybe it's just me. Haha!

Chicken Mascot!! yes, she is seriously the best man. Haha! Super stand out and shinning. Laughed like mad when I saw her. She really walked one round around the school wearing this. =D

And yes!! Our Chicken Chop was super popular!! There was a queue for it and we sold out everything! Nuggets was quite sad though but yep! At least the chicken chop was well received! =D

My grandma, my mum and my sister came! Haha! The whole family. My dad wanted to but he couldn't find a packing space. But yep! They got to eat the nice chicken chop that I cooked in the morning~! =D And yea, I got to eat a lot of stuffs 'cause my sister bought for me. Heh. =D

Kamin, Haziq, Sweden, Sijia, Chingyee and Yifan came too. =D Ok, there were more than them that I know came but too lazy to list. Went to Haunted House with Jiesi, Feli, Sweden, Haziq and Junyuan! Wanted to get like other 4e1 pple to go together but couldn't find them so we just went. It wasn't that scary and it was actually rather amusing. Haha! Quite retarded lar but it's still nice to spend sometime with these people!~ =D

Though Fun-O-Rama was fun, it was damn tiring. Luckily YL's parents drove me to 187 bus stop at Westmall there so it's nearer to my house and I don't need to squeeze in the bus all. I stink like mad too. Damn gross. But yep! This Fun-O-Rama was really a good experience! Though yes, I'll want to go back in 2 years time to really enjoy Fun-O-Rama 'cause this time round we had to tend our booth and all so it wasn't as fun. And yep, it made me realise a lot of stuffs too. Good and bad. But oh well, it's still a good experience! It's times like these when you can feel the AC spirit. =)

Post Fun-O-Rama!

So on Monday we went back to school and Mrs Chan declared that it was a half day~! Though we kinda expected it, it's still nice to hear. =D How all our efforts was recognised and we are given a break! Haha! Ok, we just like not having lessons lar. Haha!

Our happy faces!

Went to watch the Hunger Games with Feli, Jiesi, Junyuan and Nisa!

The movie was good!!!! The storyline is really interesting and the people can act. Though the whole idea is quite sick actually, killing each other just for a reality show, for entertainment. It's quire warp but still interesting. Super want to read the book now!!

Cool thing was that Swapna, Weiying and Guodong were in town to watch the movie too! Damn cool. But didn't get to meet them 'cause I had tuition after that. But I love Whatsapp man. Haha! The 6H group chat is so annoying but super entertaining. I was laughing at it as I walked home from BPP. How ridiculous we all are. Ya lar! Those asses never come for Fun-O-Rama. Tsk.

But yep! This whole Fun-O-Rama experience was really worth it. Though tiring but yep! It's still cool. Haha! And yes! Thankyou Lingli and Lingli's mum! They really helped us a lot. =D With the sponsorship of the chicken chop and nuggets! And ya!! This Lingli who from a Food Rep became the OIC of the whole Fun-O-Rama for our class. Tsk. She really did way too much already! But yep, she's really good at it! So yes, without her, our class's stalls will be quite sad.

For more photos, see Facebook! I was lazy to post more photos on the Fun-O-Rama day itself. Heh.
This is a nice photo lor!

Anyway, so yes! Went shopping with them on 14th March Wednesday at City Plaza at Paya Lebar! We went there 'cause of Qiaofen's recommendation. Haha! But yep, there really got a lot of clothes but must really dig and be in the shopping mood. =D

And that whole area is really pretty lar. We should go there again some day and explore. =D

Had dinner with Agents on that same friday! It was a rather last minute decision. Haha! And we had it at Enaq. Ah, seriously miss the food around Fuhua. I don't like Fuhua food but I like the hawker centres surrounding it. Haha!

Celebrated Mummy's birthday on 20th March! Though it wasn't much of a celebration since my mum refused to have cake. Sheesh. Sis bought her Feng Fei Fei's CD though I think we bought the wrong one so I'll go buy the correct one when I have the money. Heh. I'm seriously broke now and I don't know how and why. Sigh.

And then Fun-O-Rama madness! Shall post about it in the next post!

This week was nice 'cause I met up with nice pple super often. Haha! Tuesday met Faeqa with Feli, Wednesday met Weiying and Faeqa with Feli and we explored Junction 10 though there wasn't anything much but there are nice food and Thursday met up with Kamin and Gekhooi for Kamin's birthday! Which I'll mention more on the next post. =D Friday met Weiying! All to discuss about birthday stuffs for those annoying birthday pple. Haha! But yes, worth it to do nice stuffs for them. But anyway, yes, that's just an excuse. Haha! I love how we always waste so much time together. Tsk. And yes! Watching Korean MVs at BBQ Chicken. HAHA! We sucked man. But yes, worth it when you can see Love Song by BigBang on the TV. =))) Haha!

And yes! The week ended well with Ben & Jerry with Swap after Photog yesterday. =D Yes, awesome ice cream never fails to cheer you up. And talking to this girl is always nice 'cause there is just endless of stuffs we want to say. Haha!

This is a lousy post but heck it. =D

Glad You Came - The Wanted

[ Turn the lights out now
Now I'll take you by the hand
Hand you another drink
Drink it if you can
Can you spend a little time,
Time is slipping away,
Away from us so stay,
Stay with me I can make,
Make you glad you came ]

Glad You Came - The Wanted

Just look at the lyrics and find a pattern. It's damn cool! Swap told me about it yesterday and I only realised that after she told me. Haha! This song is nice! =D

So yes, this girl below was 18 on 12th March! But because I had photog camp and she had photog camp (even though she came like 1 day later. Tsk.), we surprise her on 13th March instead! =D

She is damn dumb lar. Haha! I told her I wanted to take MRT and she didn't questioned much and just followed 'cause usually we'll take bus home. Haha! So we took the lift up, and she was telling me about this stupid mind-blowing games again and she was just talking and talking and didn't realise that 2 pple were waiting for her outside the lift. Haha!

I was supposed to blindfold her and then Faeqa had to write stuffs on her face but I didn't have a blindfold so I just used my hands. Haha! Super joke lar. And yes, we gave her a cool thing! The thing we always played when we were young. =D And yes, this sad birthday girl had "18th birthday" written on her face. =D

And LOL!! THIS IS THE JOKE PART! There was this stranger at the MRT platform that saw the mad 4 of us and he said Swap looked like AVATAR. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! We all laughed like mad seriously. Swap laughed until she was about to tear. Damn joke! I think 'cause we made her wear this hairband that just looks funny lar. =D

I love this photo! I forgot what they were laughing about but it's damn natural. =) And lol, we were painting Swap's nails and I totally painted on of her fingers as if it's a piece of painting. Oh well. =D

Haha! We always have ridiculous photos together somehow. Looking like idiots but oh well. =D It's us lar. =D

Went to Plaza's Starbucks to slack and talked! And I wrote my stuffs for her on the card thing. Haha! I think we were super noisy but it just didn't matter. Haha! That's why I love being with them. We may be attracting a lot of unwanted attention but we don't even notice that we are attracting unwanted attention. =D Mad humans.

Haha! Just look at Faeqa's face. She like damn excited to help Swap paint her nails. =D

This is our most decent group shot. Haha! Yes we suck.

But yep, I'm really really thankful to have them and other 6H pple. It's the kind of friendship that is really hard to come. And you just know that it will last for a lifetime and more. We are just really ourselves around them. There is no hiding, no lies, no thinking, no being conscious, no face, no pride, full of ego, full of lameness, full of retarded-ness, full of nonsense, full of sincerity, full of genuine, full of laughter and full of smiles.

I cannot be more glad and thankful that they came into my life. =) And yes, believe it or not, this is the first year we actually do all these birthday surprises for each other. Haha! And doing nice cards and gifts and stuffs for each other. 'cause we are 18! Haha! Not that it's damn significant but I guess yea, to still be keeping in contact and staying close even after so many years, it's really truly something worth complimenting about. =D We are just awesome and I seriously love us being us. We the best. =)))))

photog camp =)

Yes, I'm here finally to update this rather very dead blog. Haha!

So yes, move back two weeks ago, March Hols! It seriously feels like a million years ago.

Light painting! The highlight of photog camp every year without fail. =D And yes, seriously, I want to do the sparklers thing with 6H soon! Been saying since forever. Tsk.

So yep! Photog camp was on 12th to 13th March! I'm too lazy to describe the details so I'll just highlight some nice parts of the camp. =D

Bonding with the J2s! Haha! We had to try out the bonding games for the J1s so the J2s met up earlier on 12th and we played the games. Super funny lar. Xinxing is seriously the joke. Our pres!! =D But yep! Had fun with them. I like our batch even though we are small. I think small is really nice and cosy somehow. =)

The J1s this year are quite good! As in they are really enthu and quite on to do stuffs. And they are rather nice pple. That's good I guess! They were quite high during the bonding games! =D

Light Painting!!! Haha! That was the only photo I took for light painting. We had it at the hall first using LED lights. Super cool and fun lar. Forming all the words. =D We went over to the basketball court after that to use the sparklers. And as we cut across the field to go over, Christine, Jeshen, Clara, Frank and I looked up the sky and we saw stars. Haha! The way I said it sounds funny but yes, we saw stars and we stopped for awhile and we decided to just lie on the field and not go to the basketball court. HAHA! Bunch of slackers~ But we were really tired and seriously, the school field at night is super awesome!! Vanessa and Wenjie came running from the bball court and joined us. Haha! We are so awesome~ Lie there for super long and was avoiding getting caught by Mr Tay and Xinxing. Haha! Super joke lar. But yes, it was really nice lying there and just enjoying the breeze and the softness of the synthetic grass. Talked quite a lot and yes! It's really nice. Haha!

Next day, we wake up at 4.30am to catch the sunrise!! The J1s are super duper enthu lar! They woke up way earlier than us. Lol! So yes, a whole big bunch of us walked to Buona Vista MRT and caught the first train to Raffles Place! And there was a whole line of people with their cameras along the Fullerton area. Haha! Should have taken photo of it. It's seriously damn cool. =D But yes, the weather sucked and there wasn't any sunrise. There were quite a lot of clouds. But oh well, sunrise is really hard to catch. Next time!! I really want to go take sunrise when I can drive. It will be damn cool. =D

Amazing Race!! I was grouped with Vanessa, Jeshen and Tommy for the J2s! Caroline, Grace, Huiru and Claudia were the 4 J1s! And ya! This year's batch of J1s is really girls domination. Haha! Photog has become a girl's cca. The guys population of J1 and J2 combine is really pathetic. Quite joke.

We travelled from City Hall to Chinatown to Hort Park to Haw Par Villa to Little India to Vivo City and back to school! The route was seriously madness. Travelling until like mad. My group's J1s are damn cute. 'cause they wanted to complete their mission at Little India quickly so that they can move on, we just walked out of the MRT for a short while and they were done. Super joke. Haha! They are damn cute lar!

On the way back to school, all of us were super duper tired that we all fell into deep sleep for a short 10 minutes journey. Haha! We were that tired. =D

But yes! I really enjoyed this year's photog camp more than last year's. Maybe 'cause we are j2s already but yep! I'm glad that I'm in photog. Of all clubs, services and societies group, I think we are the coolest and most bonded! =D Yay! Proud of us. Haha! I mean yea, usually clubs cca aren't close and bonded, sports and performing arts will be 'cause they kinda suffered a lot together but for clubs to be bonded is quite hard. I really felt closer to some of the J2s aft this camp. Sad how we are only closer now but better late than never! We really didn't have much chance to bond so hopefully the next batch will be bonded as well!

walking down memory lane

As I was walking home from grandma's house today, I decided to walk through the market inside of around it and many thoughts just came flowing in my head.

It's just sad how we take so many things around us for granted. That we always think that it will always be there. Until when we know that it's about to be gone, then we realise that we have to start caring about it more. Sometimes, we wait 'til they are gone before we start to care about them. It's like how everyone starts listen to Michael Jackson, Whitney Huston, Fong Fei Fei and many other deceased artists' songs only after they passed one. We learn to appreciate people and things only after they aren't around anymore. Why? I'll never know. I guess we just that them for granted, thinking that there is always time.

As I walked through the market, so many shops just remind me of how they have always been there and if one day they are gone, it will be a really weird market. The shoe shop with the old uncle always sitting outside the store, the shop selling all sorts of random stuffs, the shop selling all sorts of food, the funny handphone shop. There are just so many different things and you just wonder sometimes how in this globalising world, people may stop buying from these shops. How are they going to continue a living when more and more people stop patronizing them? It's just sad somehow. I'm guilty for it too. I don't buy stuffs from those places anymore. I used to when I was young but not anymore. As you grow older, there are just some things you stop doing and it's sad, don't you think?

How the past culture is slowly fading away. Culture evolves overtime yet it's still sad when a heritage gets lost. When I went to Chinatown the other day, I felt sad when I see how some places become so modernise and the authenticity is lost. How some things just stop existing after sometime.

Sandy playground. I used to love and still love those playgrounds with sand. It's my childhood place I guess. But I don't see any such playgrounds around anymore. Most of them changed to those modern kinds where somehow, it's not as fun anymore. The swing, everything. Childhood. I really miss being a child, having nothing to worry and just leading a happy carefree life. Bits of my childhood is slowly gone as time pass by. Children nowadays play with iPhone games instead of at the playground. I would say that they have no childhood but if you think about it, maybe that's their childhood --- playing iPhone games. As strange as it seems to us. It's like how our parents think that childhood is running around in kampung area. Strange how times really changes.

But in this digital world, it still sucks how children now are really missing out the real fun. I mean seriously, iPhone games aren't the right childhood, at least not to me. Playground, moving around, running around. That's childhood. Not sitting in front of your mum's phone and playing some games. It's just sad somehow. But yes, maybe that's their childhood.

The good food that we enjoy from hawker centres. It's mostly tend by elderly. What happens after they passed on? I highly doubt we'll be able to enjoy such good food anymore. It's sad. It's really sad but that's just how life is kinda thing. I mean yea, everyone wants their child to accomplish great things and not take over jobs that don't earn much.

Changes is inevitable yet sometimes, you just wish that time will stand still. And the environment around you won't change. But sadly, in this advance world, life isn't like that. There is no stopping. Everything keeps moving forward until at times, you feel out of breath.

I'll find a day and capture them on photos. The wonderful place I grew up in. I seriously love Bukit Panjang. It's homely and nice. Haha! All these thoughts. So many things are dear to me. Yet it's not possible to care about every single one always.

I want to get either a wide angle lens or a 17-50mm lens. But gosh, it's all damn expensive. Seriously, why did I pick up such an expensive interest? Maybe I should stick with compact camera. But no!!! My DSLR is like gah, once you used it, you just want to continue to use it. Just that yes, I really want to get a lighter lens. My current one is annoying me. Yes I shouldn't complain but still, it's annoying.

I think I'm blogging a lot recently. But that's just because it's the holidays! I seriously am dreading school. This blog post sounds quite weird 'cause I stop posting for awhile and I came back, so the deep thoughts mood was gone. Haha! I'll see when I get the mood again.

bravery

A great friend of mine did something extremely brave today and I'm super proud of her. She took the chance and took the step, without much hesitation. I wonder if I'll ever be as brave as her. I thought I was, a few months back, I really thought I was. But I guess my guts aren't as brave as I thought it was. I'm actually not as brave as I think I am. I seem brave but I think I'm actually scared of things easily. By things I mean not all. Just some stuffs. I tend to worry too much and think too much.

Maybe one day, I'll find the courage in me to do it. Maybe one day, when I know that it's worth it, when taking that step won't hurt that much, maybe all it takes is just to find the strength and bravery in me. Maybe, all it takes is knowing that it will all be worth it and maybe it's just who I'm finding courage from and for. I guess that what makes the difference. The person.

I'm really happy like this now. Just that there are times when you really can't help wondering what could have been, sometimes when you can't help feeling curious. Times where you wonder how it will feel.

How did you know it is me?

I know I'll feel it one day. I just have to be patient.
